GAPTOOF, a London-based producer under the banner of Soft Boy Records, originally hails from Cork City, Ireland. Since 2016, he has been refining his skills, releasing a range of Bandcamp beat tapes, performing live sets, and earning production credits with notable artists like Kojaque, Luka Palm, and Lord Apex.
In a pivotal moment at the close of 2019, GAPTOOF fulfilled a personal milestone by gracing the stage at Boiler Room London alongside the Soft Boy Records collective. This showcase not only highlighted his prowess as a beatmaker but also underscored his talent as a music selector.
In early 2020, GAPTOOF unveiled his debut project, "Looks Like Rain," featuring an impressive roster of collaborators including Kojaque, Kean Kavanagh, Kofi Stone, and Yenkee. Lead singles from the album, "Dean Street" and "Dreamcatcher," garnered radio airplay on esteemed platforms such as BBC 1Xtra, NTS radio, and Reprezent Radio.
Closing out 2020 on a high note, GAPTOOF embarked on a highly anticipated collaboration with rising Glaswegian rapper CHLOBOCOP.
The following year, GAPTOOF embarked on a unique venture with "THE SPACE TAPE," a Bandcamp-exclusive release where all proceeds were dedicated to the Movement of Asylum Seekers Ireland. Inspired by weekly IG Live beat battles hosted by the producer, "THE SPACE TAPE" featured winners from each battle securing a spot on the tape.
In 2021, GAPTOOF realized a dream collaboration with London-based heavyweights LEX AMOR and MANIK MC, alongside Irish songstress Carrie Baxter, resulting in the acclaimed track "Polymer."
